Lombok is still 'at the end' of the internet line in Indonesia, so while there is faster than dial up available now, it is not like in Jakarta or even Bali. The issue isn't so much 'fastest possible' it is where can I get something better than dial-up, how reliable is it, and how much does it cost. To date, the most reliable and feasible cost-wise is Telkom Speedy, and speeds are OK. If you are wanting internet for business or some sort of critical work that needs a reasonable connection, it is still probably the only real option. 3G is in Lombok but is very limited as to coverage. I see you are in Jakarta so should will no doubt know the details of Speedy. It means you will need to be somewhere with a phone line. In Lombok you need to check the prefix on the phone number to see if it is compatible with Speedy - check with the local Telkom office on what those prefixes are (can't remember).
