Transport options - Mataram to Senaru

Hi everyone,

I've been really enjoying reading everyone's posts on Lombok Lovers - its a great forum!

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with info on transport from Mataram to Senaru. We will be flying into to Mataram and would like to go to Senaru as soon as possible to arrange a Rinjani trek.

Are there are taxi services with fixed prices, or perhaps tourist shuttles that do this route regularly? Or is it just as easy to use public buses?

Your best bet if you want to get there quickly is to take a taxi from the airport. Assuming you will be arriving on a domestic flight from elsewhere in Indonesia as you exit the terminal and walk through the line of hotel desks etc , at the end on your right is a prepaid taxi booth. There is a list of the fixed fares to each destination you pay there and get a voucher and then off to the first taxi in line. Easy and fast.
