Hi All,

My wife and I have recently bought a house in Lombok and we will spend weekends and holidays in Lombok. I live and work in Bali. I am from South Africa and have been in Indonesia for 4 years and must admit that Lombok is a great place.

We look forward to meeting people and exploring Lombok.

Regards
Brian and Sinta

Hi B,

What a nice location for weekend visits!!

While I stayed at the Beach Club last year, one evening I walked across to the entrance of BTN and enjoyed satay from a vendor.

You can walk to Alfredo's, Sengiggi Square, Papaya on an on. By the way I have been querying people about what BTN stands for. I had heard those houses were built by a mining company but I also understand BTN has something to do with financing by a bank. Please throw some light on this.

Hope to say hi to you during my next visit several months from now.

Hi Josi

The BTN stands for Bank Tabungan Negara as the bank apparently had had a program where by they would build and finance the housing.
I understand that a mining company was also involved but I am not sure how it all fits together.

The whole thing may have been a social upliftment program but I may be wrong.

Look forward to meeting you.

Regards
Brian
