Want to rent house/villa with swimming pool

Hi, I live in Bali with my Indonesian husband and children and we are coming to Lombok on August 25th (this month) and are staying for 10 nights.

Our group consists of my husband, myself, a 5 year old and almost 2 yr old and a 5 month old baby, plus our 2 baby-sitters.

We would like to rent a 2 - 3 bedroom house / villa preferably with swimming pool in the area anywhere between Meninting and Sengiggi (but not past Sengiggi). Our budget is approximately up to 4 million for the 10 night stay.

If anyone can assist me I would be very greatful.

I know some people who rent villa's but the cheapest price is almost 4 million Rp for one week.Try to check the internet.I did some surfing but what I wrote,the cheapest I found is 4 million a week.

I have been searching the net for days but there seems to be limited options and most sites advertise the same few rental properties. A couple that were of reasonable price for what is on offer, were already booked. I think with the amount of searching I have done on the net that I have most probably viewed all the advertised villa's which.

Our main requirments are a good kitchen with cooking facilities and cooking utensils, air-cons in bedrooms, and a swimming pool (a baby's cot would be a bonus). We prefer lower grounds (not high up on a steep hill). 3 bedrooms would be ideal, but 2 bedrooms is also fine for us.

I am willing to increase the budget to up to 6 million so if anyone you know has something available in the areas I mentioned, I'd be happy to hear from them.

Is there any particular reason you don't want to go north of Senggigi? then you could look at Karandangan (above) and Mangsit & Klui.

Yes, reason being that we have some family who live at Meninting and my husbands father is 86 years old and he still rides his motorbike. Sometimes he will call in for a visit and we don't want him to travel too far on his bike. We also like to be close to the family as we do spend a lot of time at their places.

We have previously stayed at Meninting Bungalows on several occassions, but this time around we would prefer a house/villa as we are taking 2 babysitters with us and we would like the kitchen to do our own cooking at night (as Meninting Bungalows do not offer 24 hour room service, plus we would have to hire 2 bungalows) and a private pool will be great for us so the kids can enjoy their 10 night stay.

Ah yes, I can understand that. Until my father-in-law fell over and broke his hip, he still got around on his motorbike - slowly, and usually smoking a ciggie He would come over to our place in Belencong, but we weren't happy for him to come out to Mangsit once we moved there and would go get him if he wanted to visit.

You could also try Lombok Property, they often have rentals in their window, which they don't necessarily put up on their website. Give them a call. When I was there last year they had a couple of places in Batu Bolong, no pool though, and might be longer term. However if they are empty, the owner might consider a shorter term.

I just contacted Lombok Property and they are doing a search for me and will get back to me today, I will let you know how I go.

(Oh and the office number is also the same number as a spa in Lombok, but they are 2 different places lol....hmmm can't work that out) I went to the website and got the mobile number so this is probably a better option for those interested in calling the Senggigi agent. Or there is another office in Mataram which has a local landline number.

I can't wait to get over to Lombok for some peace and quiet

oops, I gave you the wrong one then! That's the one that shares space with Royal Spa (spa is upstairs), I think.. I didn't talk to them because they were smoking in their office (yuk!)

The one I was in was in the same shopping centre as the big souvenir shop on the beach side of the road, just about central Senggigi. I can't think what it's called

Yes it is the one in central Senggigi who are making enquires for me....still waiting though and still no villa.

Apparently I have 2 options but the owners have been uncontactable by the agency...7 days to go. At this rate we may have to seek options when we get there. Hopefully Meninting Raya Bungalows have some vacancies when we arrive.
