Returning to Lombok

Stayed in Sengiggi last Sept to climb Mt Rinjani. what an experience! we are going back to kayak a couple of days around Gilli Islands and thinking of staying at Kuta 4 a few days as something different. can anyone recommend clean/reasonable price accom? thought we might do a 1 day trek somewhere as well. any suggestions. Friends want to know why we are 'going back' to Lombok but until you experience it yourself its hard to convey the attraction. we love it!

Bit hard to recommend not knowing what you want/expect with your accommodation and your budget. If you are after a friendly, clean homestay then you can't go past Mimpi Manis (who sponsor this website, see links). They have both fan cooled and a/c rooms and are very reasonably priced. A little out of the main strip, but if you hire a motorbike (which they can arrange for a very good price) then it is not a problem. They also do great, inexpensive meals.

If you want luxury 4star then Novotel is the go, but is at the other end of the range.
