Right now, Northern Queensland is being hit by the largest storm to hit Australia in recorded history. It is expected that winds will reach 280kms per hour later tonight, and cyclonic winds, which started about 4 hours ago, will continue until midday tomorrow on the coast and further on as the storm moves inland.

To put Yasi in perspective, here is what it would look like if it was hitting the USA
