| Hi new on here, havent been to lombok for 11 years. Was wondering which place is good to stay at - puri rijani, surfers inn or tastara boutique resort. As long as clean and comfy. Last time i took malaria medications and got very ill, so this time is it ok to use only a good deet mossy spray as also travelling with 7 year old daughter. Only going to Kuta area and in June/July. And info appreciated. Also which airline best these days, trans nusa, merpati. Dont want to catch garuda as arrives to late in evening and want to head straight down south. | |

| Hi! Not been to Lombok (yet) so can't answer those questions, however I am a HCP and as such would have to say that anti-malarials SHOULD be taken. Malarone is the least likely to give unpleasant side effects but you need to speak to an HCP at either a travel clinic or with your GP. Your daughter will be able to take the paediatric dose of Malarone but she must be weighed to ensure she receives the correct dose. | |

| Well my personal choice out of the three would be Puri Rinjani. I admit to being biased as it is managed by my family but as you have a 7 year old she will find that she has some friends there to play with as my neice has a 12 year old daughter and 8 year old son who live on site as well as some of the other staff children who live in.... not to mention my own son who I brong down there to play often in the afternoons.
Re the mosquitos, I recommend Johnsons baby lotion with mosquito repellent. (Deet Free) It is available in supermarkets and baby shops here for about $2. | |

| i gather since u live there and with kids u cant keep using medictaion. My daughter is very sensitive to mossies and usually gets covered from morn till night when we stay in our village in Bali. We will probably stay in Rinjani if there is kids around as my daughter is very social. What airline do you use if when you go to Bali or do you only use the ferry. Years ago we caught ferry over and flew Merpai back. - Gemma wrote:

| Sorry, I haven't flown for a few years. Usually take the ferry as I bring the car too. owever when I used to fly I didnt really have any preference I just took which ever flight best suited me. If you stay at Rinjani look out for me in the restaurant, I am usually there a few times a week, sitting online, while Martin plays with his cousins | |
