BTF no longer accepting Lombok or Gili posts

Occasionally, if I can be bothered, I will search the Bali Travel Forum for "Lombok" or "Gili". Interestingly, there are absolutely no posts on that forum since September 2010 for those subjects. Prior to that there were quite a few. I can only surmise that the admin have decided that Lombok is too much competition for Bali these days and have banned any discussion about the neighbouring island.

It is a shame really. Pretty much everyone still comes through Bali to Lombok, and for most Lombok is still a side trip with Bali being the main destination.

Then again, it could be good for this forum as more people may need to come here for information.

Maybe just to test I will put a post up and see if it gets deleted.

There's heaps being deleted at present and anything that is remotely competition is gone without a second glance!

But lets be honest this forum runs rings round BTF ANYDAY!!!!

My only complaint is for some reason I can't bookmark it! but that's another story!

Ken has always been quick to delete on BTF, but until now, Bali holiday makers interested in a side trip to Lombok was considered a relevant discussion on the BTF. Not now it seems.

Your right that there are even more deletions than ever at the moment, you can tell when you visit and there is not much new activity. Obvious whatever was there is gone. I have to say I'm also over it. That particular forum has the worst format of any page I frequent, why it remains so popular is a bit of a mystery to me.

So what other forums do you float on and off???

Well that can only be good for Lombok Lovers as Freo said.I haven't been on BTF since Igot back to Lombok as my net has been so bad but before I left Bali I posted about a great new shop we found for fixed price souvenirs and that post was deleted... I couldn't figure out why. Sometimes the posts that stay on and those that are deleted dont seem to make any sense at all.

BTF was pretty much the only Bali Forum I was left posting on. Lonely Planet's Thorn tree is another but I am guessing my forum and FB activity will depend on how my net is behaving these days.

Looks like it is the search engine, not the content of the posts. The search on BTF is not working very well at the moment. It fails to find results for most things past september 2010.
