| Has been almost 18 months since our last Lombok visit. Having severe withdrawal symptoms!!!
Looking at spending a couple of weeks at Xmas in Lombok. Can anyone give us an idea of what sort of weather to expect - have not travelled this time of year before. Is there a lot of rain??
Also Holiday Resort question - has anyone booked direct with them. How do we pay - up front over the net or when we arrive.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks heaps, Deb. | |

| December is still usually quite dry down in Kuta. We are usually struggling with water supplies at this time. However this year the weather has been turned all upside down because of el Nina. And June & July - in the dry season were extremely wet. I would have said the wettest months of the year but October has been pretty wet too. I dont think it is possible to predict what the weather will be like this December really. | |

| Might need to wait for josi to get back from his trip to answer the Holiday Resort question. He is staying there. Or maybe pm funtrecker who also stayed there recently. | |

| From Holiday Resort, Sengiggi, Lombok, Indonesia We are on a 30 day trip to Indonesia and we are spending 11 days in Lombok staying at the Holiday Resort. There are four of us and we have rented two apartments for two weeks. I made the reservation in August 2010 for stay during October 27-November 7, 2010. We will be paying by credit card. I believe Xmas and New Year are two busy events and this place gets booked very early. The weather is the usual one with quick bursts of rain. I am guessing the occupancy is probably 70%. The spa is deserted but the swimming pool is used well. My feeling is the drinks are bit higher but during Happy Hour it is 25% off i.e., $4 for gin and tonic as opposed to $5 during regular hours. I noticed locally produced liquor is sold in a shop on the premises. The friends who are visiting here for the first time are having a fabulous time. My only disadvantage is I have not gone to any warungs yet. We visited Borobudur and Central Java for a few days. On the day we were in Jogja, Merapi erupted and the tsunami occurred in Sumatra but life was normal where we were. The flights were full and life seemed normal. Sonny if you have anay specific questions I would ask that you post them here on the forum rather than email or PM. That way the info is here for other people to benefit from also. | |

| Glad you are having a fabulous time in Lombok. Thanks so much for the info on Holiday Resort. Will be looking at 2 bedroom apartment as thought just Hubby & I, but Miss 17 & Master 15 just have to come so they tell us. Am busy running around trying to organise flights!!
Had heard there has been plenty of rain but we still have plenty of things we wish to do and see in Lombok so isn't really a concern.
Enjoy the rest of your stay!! Looking forward to hearing about what you have done in your time there. Thanks again, Deb. | |

| Josi, I also recommend you don't put your email address on a public forum. There are internet bots that crawl the web looking for email addresses, and then you start getting all sorts of unwanted spam with offers of little blue pills, fake rolexes, and goodness knows what else. You always have the pm function if you want to have a private conversation, but as Gemma mentioned, general information that is useful to other members is always appreciated. | |

| Sonny: We have been quite busy that I have not had the right time to write about our experiences. This is supposed to be the rainy season but it has not affected us. Today the temperature rose to 90* F (28* C ??) and it rained a bit but it did not cool much. The mornings and evenings are pleasant. The $ rate is about Rp.9,000.
Freogirl: I will follow your advice about listing my email address.
