Hi Naz,
Welcome to the forum and asalam aleukum!

Gemma must be away at the moment, I'm sure she will be able to update you on Mimpi Manis better than I can, but I will try to answer some of your questions.

1. Mimpi Manis is on the island of Lombok - which is a different island than Bali. You can get to Lombok by plane (30 mins from Bali), or by boat (1.5 hours to 6 hours depending on whether you pay for fast boat or go with slow public ferry). Flights are around 380,000 to 450,000 one way, boats range from 35,000 on public ferry to 650,000 by fast boat (one way) - obviously the public ferry is cheap, but you have to travel to and from the harbours which adds to the cost.
Mimpi Manis is located in Kuta, Lombok. So you also need a way to get to Kuta Lombok from the airport or harbour - this can be by public bemo or taxi.

2. Lombok is predominantly muslim so just about all the food is halal. You will need to check with the Mimpi Manis kitchen if eating there - the owners are Hindu so I'm not sure about whether everything is halal or not. If not, there are plenty of halal places in Kuta Lombok, from roadside nasi warung to small restaurants. There is also a masjid reasonably close that does Jumatan in case you are there on a Friday.

3. Kuta Lombok is famous for surfing, also you can go fishing, and chill on the beautiful white sand beaches. It is also quite a good base for exploring that part of Lombok island, seeing local lifestyle, weaving etc

4. Kuta Lombok may not be the best place if you are after live bands - there may be some but not every night. Senggigi would be a better choice if you are after some nightlife. Kuta Bali is more the sort of place if you are looking for lots of clubs and bands.

Hope that helps Smile

Hi Naz

Sorry I missed your post. Infact I did read it but when I did not have time to reply & forgot to come back to it. Apologies.

Freo has summed it all up pretty well.

1) Mimpi Manis is in Kuta Lombok, not Kuta Bali. You may have accessed the forum from the Mimpi Manis website (as you have seen the photos) and be mistaken on its location. Lombok is a 20 minute plane ride from Bali and to Kuta from the airport is a 75 minute drive.

2) Plenty of halal food in Lombok. Although we do not serve pork products I could not be say that our food is halal as I do not know the method of slaughter of the meat we serve nor all the requirements of halal food. Plenty of our muslim neighbours eat with us on a regular basis though Smile

3) The most popular activity is surfing. If you dont surf than it is checking out the stunning beaches in the south of Lombok, Tanjung Aan, Segar, Mawi, Mawun, Kuta. While Lombok still remains quite undeveloped it is possible to have a pristine white sand beach pretty much to yourself. We also arrange fishing trips and have fishing equipment to rent. Fish with Made and you rarely come home empty handed... then have your fish grilled for dinner.

4) There is not much in the way of night life. Shore Bar has live music on Saturday nights and more often in high season. We have dvd players in the rooms though and thousands of DVDs for you to chose from. If you get bored of DVDs see if you can beat Made in a game of chess or scrabble!

Hope that helps some more. Let us know if you would like more information. flower
